February 13 Water Main Repair Updates

Update (12:05PM) - February 13, 2023

Emergency Response Crews Have Repaired the Water Main and Resolved the Water Disruption

MANITOU SPRINGS CO – City of Manitou Springs emergency response crews have repaired the water main break near the City’s Mesa storage tank, and turned the water back in the resolve the water disruption.

Please remember, discolored water and/or low water pressure are normal after a water main break. Please run your bathtub tap on cold to resolve the issue.

Update (10:00 AM) - February 13, 2023

Emergency Response Crews Expect to Repair the Water Main by 2 p.m.

MANITOU SPRINGS CO – City of Manitou Springs emergency response crews have located the break and began repairs on the water main that connects the City’s Mesa water storage tank to Manitou Springs.

Emergency response crews are expecting the main to be repaired by 2 p.m.

Please continue to conserve as much water as possible:

  • Turn off sprinklers
  • Do not wash sidewalks, cars, etc. with water
  • Avoid laundry, dishwashing, etc.
  • Do not use water for anything but necessary activities

Update (8:20 AM) - February 13, 2023

Emergency Water Main Repair on Water Line That Connects Manitou Springs to the Mesa Tank

The City of Manitou Springs’ Public Works department is performing an emergency water main repair on the water main that connects the City’s Mesa water storage tank to Manitou Springs. As a result, this will create a water disruption for a large percentage of households in Manitou Springs, as water pressure in our system drops. For this reason, the City is urging its residents to conserve as much water as possible:

  • Turn off sprinklers
  • Do not wash sidewalks, cars, etc. with water
  • Avoid laundry, dishwashing, etc.
  • Do not use water for anything but necessary activities

Currently, there is no estimated time of completion as the City’s emergency response crews are beginning the digging to locate the main that requires a repair. City crews are currently assessing the situation and still gathering data on who all is and is not affected by this water disruption. 

Once the water connection is restored, discolored water and/or low water pressure are normal. Please run your bathtub tap on cold to resolve the issue.
