**Final Certificate of Election**

Special Election – January 18, 2022

Ordinance No. 1121, an ordinance amending the Manitou Springs Municipal Code, Title 5, Chapter 5.09, Section 5.09.100 regarding location and application criteria for Medical and Retail Marijuana Establishments, was successfully initiated by a citizen committee through a petition process. 

On September 21, 2021 (Minutes) Council made the decision to submit the ordinance to the electors. On September 28, 2021 Council approved Resolution No. 1421, a resolution calling a Special Mail Ballot Election for January 18, 2022 to the registered electors of the City of Manitou Springs.

Voting Information

Ballot Drop-off location at 606 Manitou Avenue (City Hall): Ballot Drop Box (outside City Hall) and Manitou Springs City Clerk's Office (during business hours)

The Ballot drop box at City Hall will be open 24 hours a day from December 27, 2021 through 7:00 p.m. on Election Day January 18, 2022.  All ballots MUST be received in City Clerk’s Office or Manitou Springs Ballot Drop box by 7:00 PM January 18, 2022 (Postmarked do not count as received). To ensure that your vote is counted correctly, it is important that you follow all the instructions shown on your ballot.

Replacement ballots: If you make a mistake, damage, or lose your ballot, you may request a replacement from the City Clerk’s office during the following hours:

Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m;

And from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Election Day

Register to Vote

Colorado allows you to register to vote through Election Day.

The timeframe when you register, though, may affect the method by which you can vote. You MUST register to vote through the El Paso County Clerk and Records Office. 

The El Paso County Clerk and Recorders Office will NOT carry ballots for the 2022 Special Election. These ballots must be recieved through the City Clerks Office at 606 Manitou Avenue for those who registered after ballots are mailed.
