A popular 26-miles heavily-trafficked out-and-back trail starting in Manitou Springs to the top of Pikes Peak. Recommended for experienced backcountry adventurers or those prepared for an overnight trip. Hike April through October. Bicycles and dogs on leash are okay. This is the same trail followed by the Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon.
Overnighters reserve a spot at Barr Camp, a 6.5-mile hike from Manitou Springs, or about the halfway mark to the summit of Pikes Peak.
Barr Lot is the designated parking lot reserved for those who are using the Barr Trail and/or Barr Camp.
Incline users must park at Hiawatha Gardens or Iron Springs Chateau
No Cog Railway parking is allowed at Barr Lot.
Parking is first come, first serve.
