Overview
The Historic Preservation Regulations for the City of Manitou Springs can be located in Chapter 17 of the Municipal Code. The City of Manitou Springs obtained its Certified Local Government (CLG) status through the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) and the National Park Service in 1987.
The Historic Preservation Regulations are under the purview of the Historic Preservation Commission, a quasi-judicial body appointed by our City Council. Any exterior alterations to a property located in one of the City's local historic sub-districts which are visible from the right-of-ways is under their jurisdiction.
Historic Sub-District Maps
The Historic Sub-District Maps may be used to determine whether a given property is located within one of the City's Local Historic Sub-Districts and, if found to be located in one of the districts, in which district the property is found.
