I am an 18-year resident of Manitou Springs, and have served on multiple boards during my time here, including the Chamber, the former EDC, the BID, and the TAP. I owned a retail shop between 2003-2011 on Manitou Avenue.
I have a bachelor of arts from the University of Texas at Austin in government, with a minor in sociology and classics. My early career was in training, implementation and project management for technology companies, specializing in applications for hospitality and telephony. More recently I have been focused on endeavors that are more entrepreneurial in nature, including retail and service businesses. My husband Ed and I currently design and produce automotive parts and accessories, including luggage designed for outdoor vehicular sports. Our automotive parts are sources from materials made in the US, and they are manufactured in Colorado Springs. We are very proud that we do not outsource to other countries and that we help to create jobs in the US. Ed and I have 2 daughters. Our oldest is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy (one of the 5 federal service academies) and is currently an officer in the United States Merchant Marine and the US Navy Reserve. Our youngest is currently a junior at UCCS studying biochemistry with an emphasis on medical applications. Daisy is the dog that is currently rescuing us, and she is very grateful that she is allowed to visit staff in city hall.
