Manitou Springs Tree Planting

Saturday, October 12, 2019

The City is looking for volunteers to join in a Climate Action day on October 12 from 10 am to 2 pm. Volunteers will help plant 147 new trees in honor of Manitou’s 147th birthday and to demonstrate community’s commitment to the environment. The group will meet in front City Hall at 10 am for information about tree planting locations and should bring any small garden tools they would like, plenty of water, and a sack lunch. After the tree planting from 5 pm to 7 pm, the City will host a potluck in Memorial Hall celebrating climate action and giving local partners and organizations the opportunity reach out to the community and share how they plan to combat climate change. An online sign-up for the event and more information about the City’s environmental programs can be found at https://tinyurl.com/manitougreen or by contacting Aaron Schultz, the City’s Climate Action Project Coordinator, at aschultz@comsgov.com.
